Intro (00:02): Welcome to The Fast-Track Entrepreneur Podcast with your host, Terra Bohlmann. You are about to get filled with business strategies, advice, and motivation to get you prepared to fast-track your five year plan in less than one year. So buckle up and let's create your first class business with clarity and confidence.

Terra (00:28): Hi there, Terra Bohlmann, business coach for women entrepreneurs and creator of the Business Map Method. I am so excited to have Episode 1 up and ready to go. This is the very first podcast. It's so exciting. I just want to say thank you to everyone who's been encouraging me to do this podcast. It's been something I've wanted to do for a while and I wanted to make sure that this is the year that it happens. So thank you and thank you for taking the time to listen. I am all about giving you quality content that is going to make a difference in your business. So I'm going to talk to you buttercup. I love to say buckle up, buttercup. So this is for you, buttercup. I know you are a brilliant woman entrepreneur, but chances are you're the best kept secret out there. And I don't want your business dreams to stall out as you're watching everybody else around you make it big and there's nothing wrong with you, right?

Terra (01:33): And you definitely don't need an expensive bandaid to fix what you think needs to happen in your business. You just need a plan. So I am all about that. So what I believe more than anything in the world, this is my, my big belief. I believe that for a business to become profitable, you gotta have a plan. And with that plan you have to just take consistent action on it. That is the real secret to business success. I love what I do. I get to work with women entrepreneurs every single day to grow their business. I wouldn't change a thing. And after doing this for almost a decade, can't even believe it's been that long. So one consistent thing that I've seen that changes everything in a woman's business is taking consistent action. So I want this podcast to be focused on three things that I can give you in your business.

Terra (02:32): I want to give you more clarity. I want to help make you more cash. So we're focused on you working on the things that only you can do in your business and make money doing it. And ultimately I want to help instill confidence in you that you're doing things right and if you're not, it's okay because we can get you back on track to get you going in the right direction. So we're going to cover a range of topics starting with clarity that I had mentioned before. Business clarity is so key and sometimes we just get into our business and I love it when women just get in and they just start going and you don't look back and you just go, that sounds like how when I first started my business, exactly what I did. But what happens when you do that? You feel like you're missing out on some steps that you may have missed that make all the difference in your business.

Terra (04:16): And then sometimes we have to go backwards to fill in those gaps and that's something that I am a strong believer in is laying that perfect as perfect as it can be. I probably use the word perfect all the time, but in reality there is no such thing as perfect, but you may be like me where we suffer a little bit from perfectionism, so I'm always working on that. So I call things perfect, but now I know that it's really not perfect. It's as close to perfect as we can get. Let's be real. When you have a strong foundation in your business, you have those essentials kind of ironed out before you get going too far down the path, then it gives you so much clarity in your business. So things like we want to know who your perfect client profile is. Who do you want to serve?

Terra (05:02): Right? So we're going to talk about defining your perfect customer. We're also going to talk about, you know, some branding, right? Like you want to show up and look professional and have some consistency. Just take their branding seriously. So it's all about, you don't have to spend tons of money on your branding, but it just needs to be consistent, right? Then we're going to also talk some about how you can develop your own intellectual property for your company and create a framework so that you can be the creator of something, right? I mean a lot of people will go and license out business frameworks or how-to's or step-by-steps and stuff like that. When I know inside your beautiful brain you have great ideas, you have great techniques that'll work. So I want to teach you how to package that and market it so that you have expertise in the industry and that builds business credibility.

Terra (06:01): Then we're also going to talk about thinking bigger, right? We got to get into some mindset stuff because in reality, and I never, I mean I'll be the first one to raise my hand on this. I thought that the whole mindset thing was a little crazy when I was first transitioning out of the corporate world. I was a corporate consultant and you know, all this stuff, mindset, mindset, and you know, think positive and all these things. I considered that too and I was just like, I, you know, this is business. We just gotta get to business. But the more I grew my business, the more you realize that mindset is so huge and it wasn't until I took the time to do personal development work with a woman who here and I'm in Houston, Texas in Houston. That changed everything for me. My husband was actually looking at my financials back then and was like, what happened in this month?

Terra (06:51): You skyrocketed? And I said, yeah, that's when I started working with Diana. Her name's Diana. I started working with Diana and he's like, wow. Like you can see a real difference on the profit side. So mindset is huge. So we're going to talk about that. We're going to get out of these fears around showing up, especially when it comes to thinking you have to launch your business or come up with something and it needs to be perfect. Sometimes it just needs to be done. I can venture to say that your 50% effort is a lot of people's a hundred percent effort. If that sounds like you and you're kind of hesitant to put things out there, trust me, you're going to love this podcast. Then after we talk about clarity, we're going to get into things about making money. I want it to be okay to use this podcast as a way to talk about women making money, money and sales, marketing and all that kind of stuff.

Terra (07:45): It is, it's a lot of fun. Once you can get past a lot of the mindset things and stories that we've told ourselves about this stuff, it becomes amazing. So we're going to talk about making money, maximizing profit, how to save money, and how to do all kinds of different things in your business so that you can pay yourself, right? It's not about, I want to make six figures in my business, cause guess what? Even if you make six figures in your business, that doesn't mean you're paying yourself that six figures. So we're going to talk about that kind of stuff because it's stuff that's important for you in order to really upgrade, right? So if you want to make $100,000 as a salary in your business, chances are you need to be making your goals for your businesses, 200 maybe $300,000 so that you can pay yourself and we have to pay ourselves in our business.

Terra (08:37): None of this, I'm going to keep investing. I'm going to keep putting it back into the business to grow because guess what? Here's a trick and this is like very common for us women is we can spend everything we make, right? So we can justify anything. Absolutely. Like just look at how many black pants that we have in our closet. I probably don't need another pair of black jeans, but you got the skinny jeans, you've got the you know, pants that you want to wear when you're feeling fat that day. You've got the loose pants, the trendy pants, the crop pants. We have all kinds of different black pants so we can justify anything. We're really good at that. So we need to pay ourselves right out of the gate, even if it's a hundred dollars a month. Okay. And then we're going to talk about creating signature offers.

Terra (09:25): So these things that you are known for selling so that people can refer you. I love setting up referral programs. They work. 85% of small businesses get their new leads from referrals. So we're going to talk about referrals. We're going to talk about upsells, downsells, cross-sells, all that kind of stuff. Strategic partnerships, marketing strategy, pricing. Oh my gosh. Pricing is one of these things that so many people get anxiety over. I know, I sure did when I first started my business. You don't want to be too much. You don't want to be under priced, right? The reality is when we get into pricing, I'll share all my secrets in probably we'll call them lessons learned, opportunities around price strategy. I'm also going to share with you how to do consultations and have real conversations without feeling salesy. Right?

Terra (10:21): So I am a huge believer, for some reason people out there don't like to have one on one conversations with people. I'm one of these people who I love them, so when everyone else is like, I don't do that. I'm like, I want to do that. I'll talk to as many women for 15 minutes on the phone as I can until my calendar is completely full. It is something that I think is so important. And I've done hundreds of hundreds and hundreds of consultations and some of those relationships I'm, I mean they've just turned into amazing, amazing friendships, strategic partnerships, and even clients. And then lastly, the third thing that is going to be super important, what this podcast is all about, confidence. And what I've learned is confidence comes when you get into action. Competence is one of these things that when when people buy your offer, it does nothing but make you feel validated.

Terra (11:10): And then that confidence grows and then another person buys your offer and you're like, wow, this is good. And you just keep doing stuff over and over again and getting really good at it. We put some automation in your business, we really enhance that customer experience that you want to give them and how you onboard your new clients and how you deliver what you've sold. How do you transition people? And eventually you can build out your dream team, right? So that is one of those things that, Oh, I feel so good in your business when you're not in it alone. So no matter what, even if you don't think you can afford to hire somebody right now, I want you to think bigger and think in terms of who is my dream team, your dream team matters. And it is why you're, you can then do everything that only you can do in your business.

Terra (12:02): And we're also just going to continue to talk about how you can always be upgrading your business. We never want to rest on our laurels and this podcast truly is about authenticity. So often, and a big buzzword these days is Imposter Syndrome and I see that getting in the way of so many women's businesses and for me, transparency, authenticity is a huge core value. So I want this podcast to be a place where I can share and just be completely open.
